The Past, Present and Future of Canadian Consulting Engineering Firms

The economic downturn has hit the global consulting engineering industry hard. Relatively speaking, however, Canadian firms have out-performed their peers in the United States and Europe. While the future is bright, Canadian organizations are still managing through the after-effect of the 1990’s downturn. Because firms slashed staff and scrambled for new work, there was a singular focus on utilization. Fast forward to 2012 and today that same focus lingers – the challenges of which include:

1. Firm and service commoditization
2. Clients making purchasing decision based on the least effective, single selection criteria: cost.
3. The impact these have as Canadian firms compete in a global marketplace

The past, present and future of Canadian consulting engineering are intertwined. Firms that will be successful in the future are those that effectively differentiate themselves and successfully offer value-based pricing.  This requires overcoming business practices from the past.

This webinar, featuring John Gamble (President of ACEC Canada) and Nancy Sperry (Deltek's Senior Director of Global Accounts), will help Canadian consulting engineering firms on that journey!
