State and local IT spending is on the rise. In FY14, spending was at $2.27 billion and FY15 is estimated at $2.44 billion. This will continue to rise through FY19, with spending at over $3.1 billion.

FirstNet and the nationwide broadband network are moving forward and states will soon need to decide how to develop their network. Other initiatives, like Next Generation 911 (NG911) continue to move ahead, regardless of whether local agencies are ready.
