GAO Report - DOD Defense Acquisition Programs

GAO recently completed an annual assessment of the Department of Defense (DOD) weapon system acquisitions, an area on the agency’s high-risk list. The report, presented to congressional committees, focuses on the cost and schedule performance of 78 major defense programs, the knowledge achieved at key acquisition decision points, and selected acquisition reform initiatives.
